Carbide composite roll rings are gradually replacing traditional cast iron rolls

From the structure of cemented carbide rolls, there are two types of solid carbide rolls and composite cemented carbide rolls. Among them, solid carbide rolls have been widely used in pre-finishing and finishing stands (including reducing and sizing stands, pinch roll stands) of high-speed wire rod mills. Composite cemented carbide rolls are composed of cemented carbide and other materials, and can be divided into cemented carbide composite roll rings and integral cemented carbide composite rolls. The cemented carbide composite roll ring is installed on the roll shaft through mechanical connection, and is used in small rolling mills, high-speed rolling mills, steel pipe three-high rolling mills, etc.: solid carbide and composite rolls directly cast the cemented carbide roll ring in the roll shaft. It forms a whole and is used in rolling mills with very large rolling loads.

Application of Cemented Carbide Roll in High Speed Wire Rod Production

Carbide roll rings are widely used in high wire rolling mills. In high-speed wire rod rolling mills, the rolling force, rolling torque and wear of the roll rings on different stands are different, and different carbide grades must be used accordingly. Under normal circumstances, the rolling load of the previous stands (such as intermediate rolling and pre-finishing stands) is relatively large. The roll ring is required to have good toughness and strength, and a grade with a higher binder phase content must be selected; and the subsequent stands (such as finishing rolling stand, reducing and sizing stand RSM, double-module TMB stand) have a long time for steel passing, requiring The roller ring has better wear resistance, and the grade with low binder content should be selected: especially the roller ring of the finished product and the front frame of the finished product has a direct impact on the surface quality and tolerance of the finished wire rod, compared with the previous frames. , it is necessary to change the rolls and grooves frequently. Usually, the number of replacements is often 2-4 times that of the previous stands. Its wear resistance often plays a decisive role in improving the efficiency of the entire rolling mill.

The cemented carbide composite roll ring is used in the middle rolling stand of the high-speed wire mill, replacing the traditional cast iron rolls, which greatly increases the life of the rolling groove of the middle rolling stand by 10-20 times, and greatly reduces the downtime of the high-speed wire rolling mill. , While improving the utilization rate of the rolling mill, the working state of the subsequent cemented carbide roll ring has been greatly improved, the service life of the cemented carbide roll ring has been prolonged, and the final product quality of the wire has been improved.

Application of Cemented Carbide Composite Roll Ring in Small Rolling Mill

Carbide composite roll rings are used in finishing and intermediate rolling stands of small rolling mills. They are generally used in 2-10 stands abroad, at least on two stands, that is, the finished product and the pre-finished stand. It can give full play to the best performance and benefits of the rolling mill, and is conducive to ensuring the good working conditions of the composite roll ring of the finished stand, and improving the rolling life of the single groove and the quality of the rolled material.

The groove life of the cemented carbide composite roll ring is about 10-20 times that of ordinary cast iron rolls, and the maximum amount of grinding per time is 1/2 to 1/3 of that of cast iron rolls. Therefore, compared with traditional cast iron rolls, The total rolling amount of the composite roll ring is 20-40 times that of ordinary rolls.

Carbide composite roll rings are widely used in the production of wire rods, bars, pipes and other small materials, such as square steel, hexagonal steel, flat steel, angle steel, etc. This technology can improve the performance of rolling mills. All have received good results. For example, when rolling 12ram rebar, the single groove rolling capacity of the carbide composite roll ring is more than 1300 tons, which is more than 16 times that of ordinary cast iron rolls, which are 80 tons per groove; The grinding amount is 1.5-2.0mm, which is 1/2-1/3 of the cast iron roller 5-6ram. When rolling 20*3 spring flat steel, the single groove rolling capacity of the composite roll ring is more than 1000 tons, while the cast iron roll is 70-90 tons, a difference of more than 10 times.
